Dear students,
on April 3-4, each day from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., we invite you to our
special 2-day easter hackathon Hunt for Easter Eggs and Aliens Explore
UFOs by HPC and AI [1].
In this hackathon, you will be working with the HPC machine Taurus and
develop your own AI pipeline for UFO identification. The data set is
composed of approximately 30,000 labelled images of objects in the sky
commonly mistaken for unidentified flying objects. With the aid of OmniOpt
[2], you can refine the present pipeline and tune the hyperparameters of the
neural networks.
Sounds interesting? Then save yourself a seat for our Hackathon at the
ScaDS.AI Living Lab [3] at TU Dresden. Keep in mind, that this is a 2-day
event and you should participate on both days. Registration is required [4].
Participation is free. Pre-knowledge is not required for participation.
We are looking forward to welcome you in the Living Lab!
Kind Regards,
your ScaDS.AI Living Lab Team, Dresden

Dear students,
we are pleased to invite you to the next ScaDS.AI [1] "Living Lab Hands-On
Demonstrator Series" event. In the ScaDS.AI Living Lab Hands-On Demonstrator
Series we showcase the latest accomplishments, discoveries, improvements and
educational tools of the ScaDS.AI team in the field of Artificial
Intelligence, Big Data and Data Science. We welcome you all to our Living
Lab for an opportunity to find out about the demonstrators which interest
you the most. The introductory talk, Q&A and hands-on session will provide
you with a chance to familiarize yourself with the demonstrator, with the
guidance of the demonstrator creator, and have a discussion on their
research directions and real-life applications.
In the next session, Verena Maleska and Marzan Tasnim Oyshi will present VR
FloodVis.
FloodVis provides the means to visualize potential future flood risks in
Virtual Reality (VR). Displaying the results in a VR supports the user in
understanding the complexity of the dynamics of the flood risk system and
provides a sense of presence. In FloodVis, the user goes into a virtual
environment to interact with the data and explore the temporal evolution of
different flood events under the influence of climate change.
Join us on February 23rd, at 1 p.m., for our Hands-On Demonstrator event at
the Living Lab [2]. We encourage everyone to register in advance [3].
The Living Lab appears as a multi-faceted venue, exhibition space, teaching
and education center, and laboratory. Therefore, you will have the
opportunity to interact with some of the other demonstrators, find out about
future events, and have informative discussions with our Living Lab team. In
addition, we welcome suggestions for further improvements, ideas for other
demonstrators and an open discussion with your fellow peers.
The attendees are advised to observe the current rules and regulations
suggested by Technische Universität Dresden regarding Covid-19 [4].
Please feel free to forward this invitation and do not hesitate to contact
us if you have any questions! We are looking forward to seeing you soon!
Best Regards,
