Liebe Kommilitonen,
1. Lernraum 3027
Häufig möchte man allein oder in kleinen Gruppen in Ruhe seine Aufgaben
bearbeiten oder für anstehende Prüfungen lernen. Bisher war dies an der
Fakultät nur in den Gängen oder abends in den Seminarräumen möglich.
Jedoch hat uns das Institut für Theoretische Informatik
freundlicherweise die INF 3027 als Lernraum zur Verfügung gestellt.
Solltet ihr also wieder auf der Suche nach einem ruhigen Plätzchen
tagsüber sein, dann könnt ihr in Zukunft Frau Achtruth (INF 3020) bitten
euch die 3027 aufzuschließen und diesen Raum dann zum Lernen etc.
nutzen. Selbstverständlich können auch weiterhin die Seminarräume
genutzt werden, wenn sie leer sind.
2. Fakultät-Öffentlich Mailingliste
Es gibt eine fakultätsöffentliche Mailingsliste, die allen Mitgliedern
der Fakultät, also auch den Studenten, offen steht. Sie ist unter
https://mailman.zih.tu-dresden.de/groups/listinfo/inf-fakultaet-oeffentlich
abonnierbar. Auf ihr werden allgemeine Informationen und Ankündigungen,
die die Fakultät betreffen kommuniziert.
3. Orga für Fakultäts-Fussballturnier immer noch gesucht
Alljährlich fand im Sommersemester unser Fußballturnier statt. Doch
dieses Jahr fehlt uns ein Organisator. Wenn ihr also Fußball mögt und
auch im nächsten Semester wieder ein Turnier stattfinden soll, dann
versucht euch doch einmal als Organisator! Der Aufwand hält sich in
Grenzen und ihr bekommt reichlich Unterstützung vom FSR, sowie Hinweise
und Tipps vom Organisator der letzten Jahre.
4. "Pro Studium Generale" - Aktionstag am 9.6.
Unter dem Motto "Ab in die Breite" findet am 9.6. der Tag "Pro Studium
Generale" an der TU Dresden statt. Mit diesem Tag möchte das Institut
für Studium Generale darauf aufmerksam machen, dass in den neuen
Bachelor- und Masterstudiengängen zunehmend auf das Studium Generale
verzichtet wird, und zeigen, wie ein Studium mit diesem aussehen könnte.
Das Programm sieht unter anderem einen Workshop zu diesem Thema, einen
Workshop der AG Wirtschaftsethik, ein Labyrinth, ein Quiz zum
Allgemeinwissen und vieles mehr vor. Der Abschluss wird gebildet durch
die Dresdner Bands "Noreah" und "tape yourself".

5. Großdemonstration am 16.6.
Die Staatsregierung plant bei Kitas, Schulen, Hochschulen, im Jugend-
und Sozialbereich, sowie bei Kultur und der Polizei massiv zu kürzen. In
den kommenden Jahren sollen 17.000 Stellen abgebaut werden. Am 16.6.
findet daher die Auftaktdemonstration der Proteste gegen diese Kürzungen
statt. Der Startpunkt des Demozugs für die Hochschulen startet 13 Uhr am
Friedrich-List-Platz beim Hauptbahnhof.

6. Professorenstammtisch mit Dr. Petersohn am 17.6.
Am 17. Juni wird es wieder einen Professorenstammtisch geben. Diesmal
haben wir Dr. Petersohn eingeladen und es wird am Teich hinter der
Fakultät gegrillt. Die Themen für den Professorenstammtisch bestimmt
ihr. Ob es um das Thema "Künstliche Intelligenz" oder um Sachen aus dem
Unialltag geht oder ihr einfach so Fragen zum Leben eines Dozenten habt
und wie ER seine Studenten sieht. Ihr seid eingeladen alles zu fragen,
was euch in den Sinn kommt. Ihr könnt natürlich auch einfach gemütlich
ein Bierchen trinken und den Gesprächen zuhören. Beginn ist 18:30 Uhr
und das ganze geht so lange wie ihr Dr. Petersohns Aufmerksamkeit
fesseln könnt. Wir freuen uns auf euer Kommen!
7. Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften am 18.6.
Auch dieses Jahr findet wieder die Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften statt.
In der Zeit von 18 bis 1 Uhr öffnen vier Dresdner Hochschulen sowie 32
außeruniversitäre Forschungseinrichtungen und wissenschaftsnahe
Unternehmen ihre Häuser, Labore, Hörsäle und Archive für die
Öffentlichkeit.
Wissenschaft in Dresden ist vielfältig. An 90 verschiedenen Orten
präsentieren die Einrichtungen ein anspruchsvolles Programm mit 435
Führungen, Präsentationen, Ausstellungen, Vorträgen, Musik, Filmen und
Experimentalshows. Alle Veranstaltungen sind kostenfrei, ebenso wie die
Nutzung des Busshuttles.

Dear fellow students,
1. Study room 3027
Sometimes you wish to work or study in a quiet place. Until now, this
was only possible in the hallways or in the seminar rooms (only in the
evening). However, the Institute of Theoretical Computer Science has
offered us to use the INF 3027 as a study room. So if you are in need of
a room to study in, ask Mrs. Achtruth (INF 3020) to open the 3027. Of
course, when a seminar room is empty, it can still be used as a study room.
2. general departement mailinglist
There is a mailiglist which is open to all members of the faculty
including students. You can subscribe at

. The list will be used to communicate general information and
announcements relevant to the whole of the faculty. Unfortunately the
communication on this list is in German.
3. Faculty soccer tournament organization
The faculty holds an annual soccer tournament organized by students.
However, this year no one has come forward yet to organize it. If you
would like to have a soccer tournament this semester, then please
volunteer to be the organizer this year. There is not too much work
involved in the organization and you will receive help and support from
your student representatives and the previous tournament's organizers.
4. "Pro Studium Generale" on 9 June
The "studium generale" is a list of lectures which is available to all
students at the university and it used to be obligatory to listen to
some lectures of you own choosing. However, within the Bachelor and the
Master the studium generale is often shortened or left out. Therefore,
the institute for studium generale wishes to show everyone the
importance of the this type of lecture with the "Pro Studium Generale"
day on 9 June. The program for this day includes a workshop on the topic
itself, another workshop from the AG Wirtschaftsethik (working group
business ethics), a labyrinth, a quiz about general knowledge and much
more.

5. protest rally on 16 June
The government plans steep cuts within kindergardens, schools,
universities, the police and social areas. There are plans to cut back
17000 jobs within the next years. That is why on 16 June there will be a
demonstration in Dresden. It will start 1pm at the Friedrich-List-Platz.

6. Professorenstammtisch on 17 June
On 17 June, we will once again hold a Professorenstammtisch, a
wonderfull opportunity to get in contact with one of your professors.
This time we have invited Dr. Petersohn to a BBQ behind the faculty
building. You can talk to him about whatever you want: artificial
intelligence, the university or the life of a lecturer and his view on
the students. Of course you can also just have a drink and listen to
what the others are talking about. It starts at 6:30pm and the event is
open ended until Dr. Petersohn can't stand us anymore.
7. Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften on 18 June
The Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften 2010 (lit. "long night of sciences")
will take place on 18 June. From 6pm to 1am four of Dresden's
universities as well as 32 applied research facilities and scientific
companies will open their premises, labs, auditoriums and archives to
the public.
Science in Dresden is multifaceted. A formidable agenda is being offered
by the participating institutions, with 60 locations offering 435 guided
tours, presentations, exhibitions, lectures, music, films and
experimental shows. All events as well as the shuttle bus can be
accessed for free.
