Liebe Komilliton_innen,
das neue Semester ist seit einigen Tagen in vollem Gange und euer
Fachschaftsrat meldet sich mal wieder mit Informationen.
UNIWAHLEN 2020 - BRIEFWAHL BEANTRAGEN & MITMACHEN
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kandieren oder Kandidieren? Bis zum 10. Dezember 2020 werden über
Briefwahl
die studentischen Vertreter_innen im Fachschaftsrat, Fakultätsrat, Senat
und erweiterten Senat sowie die stellv. Gleichstellungsbeauftragten
gewählt.
In diesem Jahr finden die Uniwahlen ausschließlich per Briefwahl statt.
Die
Unterlagen musst du allerdings natürlich beantragen. Das geht ganz
einfach
online über dein ZIH-Konto.
Auch du kannst dich noch zur Wahl aufstellen und damit die Möglichkeit
erhalten, deine Stimme in die Gremien der Studierendenschaft und der
Hochschule zu tragen. Setze dich für die Belange deiner Mitstudierenden
ein, gewinne Einblicke in die inneren Vorgänge der Universität, lerne
engagierte Menschen kennen und schule deine sozialen Fähigkeiten im
offenen
Diskurs.

SPIELEABEND

Am 17.11.2020 findet wieder der vom FSR organisierte Spieleabend statt.
Aufgrund der aktuellen Lage leider online, aber es wird sicher trotzdem
ausreichend Möglichkeiten geben, ins Gespräch zu kommen. Wir haben uns
einige coole (und kostenlose) Spiele rausgesucht, sodass nicht nur
hardcore
Gamer_innen auf ihre Kosten kommen. Ihr könnt natürlich trotzdem gerne
auch
eure eigenen Spiele miteinander spielen.

PROGRAMMIERKURS-EINSCHREIBUNG VERPASST?

Du hast die Programmierkurs-Einschreibung verpasst und es gibt keine
freien
Plätze mehr? Der Lehrstuhl Softwaretechnologie bietet eine
Online-Plattform
zum Java lernen und üben an.
Dort gibt es lehrreiche Programmieraufgaben in verschiedenen
Schwierigkeitsgraden zu denen man Feedback erhält. Die Plattform ist
unter
https://inloop.inf.tu-dresden.de/ aus dem Uninetz (und VPN) erreichbar.

DIGITALER LEHRPREIS
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wir vom FSR sprechen allen Lehrenden, die im vergangenen Semester ihre
Veranstaltungen online angeboten haben, ein riesiges Dankeschön aus! So
haben es die vielen engagierten Lehrkräfte ermöglicht, einen annähernd
normalen Lehrbetrieb zu garantieren. Die digitale Lehre erfordert
insbesondere für die aktuelle Zeit zeitgemäße, datenschutzkonforme sowie
barrierefreie Lösungen, um allen Studierenden geordnete und einfach
zugängliche Lehrformen anzubieten.
Um herauszufinden, wie die perfekte digitale Lehrveranstaltung aussieht,
haben wir die Studierenden nach ihren Favoriten aus dem Sommersemester
2020
gefragt. Hierzu haben wir einige Vorschläge erhalten, konnten mangels
eindeutigem Feedbacks nur zwei davon für den Lehrpreis nominieren. Für
den
Sachverhalt haben wir zwei Erklärungsmöglichkeiten: Zum einen haben wir
einfach nicht genug sinnvolle Vorschläge erhalten oder die
Lehrveranstaltungen haben die Zufriedenheit der Studierenden nicht
ausreichend erfüllt. Eine Kombination beider Erklärungen ist ebenfalls
denkbar.
Unsere Nominierungen lauten:
Kryptographie und Kryptoanalyse von Dr.-Ing. Elke Franz:
Vorlesungen und Übungen fanden live über BigBlueButton-Konferenzen
statt.
Es gab wöchentlich eine Vorlesung und zwei mögliche Übungstermine.
Außerdem
gab ebenfalls regelmäßige Konsultationen und ein Forum für Fragen.
Frau Franz hat es geschafft, eine sehr mathematische Vorlesung komplett
digital aufzubereiten. Sie hat Tafelbilder voller Formeln in Echtzeit
eingetippt. Anfangs wurde dafür PowerPoint genutzt und Verlauf des
Semesters ist Sie auf Typora umgestiegen. Interaktive Möglichkeiten wie
Umfragen oder der Chat haben dabei geholfen zu ermitteln, ob der
Lernstoff
noch unklar war oder weiter vertieft werden musste.
Auf Opal wurden jede Woche verschiedene Ressourcen wie Folien,
Zusammenfassungen und digitale Tafelbilder hochgeladen sowie die
Verweise
auf relevante Literatur.
Rechnernetze von Prof. Dr. Andreas Schill, Dr. Markus Wutzler und Dr.
Iris
Braun:
Für die Veranstaltung wurde ein breiter Mix an verschiedenen E-Learning-
Materialien produziert und abgestimmt. Hierzu wurden
Vorlesungsaufzeichnungen sowie thematische Zusatz-Clips asynchron
bereitgestellt. Zu den üblichen Vorlesungszeiten wurden im Anschluss
mittels ACMS und Opal-Selbsttests zwei interaktive Formate
bereitgestellt,
wodurch Studierende ihr Wissen zum Vorlesungsstoff überprüfen konnten.
In
Ergänzung dazu konnte man bei den Übungseinheiten über BigBlueButton mit
den Lehrenden interagieren, welche durch individuelle Breakout-Räume und
einem Mehrbenutzermodus zum gemeinsamen Ausfüllen von Folien gefördert
wurden. Die Kommunikation wurde via E-Mail, Opal und einem Matrix-Chat
sichergestellt.
Abschließend sprechen wir unsere Anerkennung auch an diejenigen aus,
die
sich innovative Konzepte ausgedacht und neue Techniken probiert haben,
um
die Studierenden in der derzeitigen Situation zu unterstützen. Wir
hoffen,
dass diese Mühen ein Fundament für die Lehrformen der Zukunft aufbauen
und
wir auch in zukünftigen digitalen Semestern auf die vielen guten Ideen
der
Lehrenden zurückgreifen können.

MÖGLICHKEITEN ZUR NICHTANRECHNUNG
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Euer Senat hat für euch einige Möglichkeiten erwirkt, um zu verhindern,
dass sich das Semester nicht zu sehr auf eure Leistungen auswirkt.
So z.B. die Ablehnung von Prüfungsergebnissen ohne eine Angabe von
Gründen.
Wendet euch hierfür an das Prüfungsamt.
Das muss allerdings vor einem erneuten Prüfungsversuch passieren. Die
Regelung ist auch für nicht bestandene Ergebnisse (5.0) gültig.
Es existiert ebenso die Möglichkeit, einer Nichtanrechnung des Semesters
ohne ein Verfallen von Prüfungsleistungen.

FSR-SITZUNGEN

Wie viele andere Informatiker_innen, tagt auch der Fachschaftsrat von zu
Hause aus. Wenn ihr also schon immer mal wissen wolltet, was der FSR so
macht, ihr ein Anliegen persönlich vortragen wollt oder erwägt, euch in
der
nächsten Legislaturperiode aufstellen zu lassen, dann schaut einfach mal

Dear fellow students,
the new semester has been in full swing for a few days now and your
student
council is once again providing information.
UNIVERSITY ELECTIONS 2020 - REQUEST POSTAL VOTE & PARTICIPATE

Until December 10, 2020, the student representatives in the student
council, faculty council, senate and extended senate as well as the
deputy
equal opportunity commissioner will be elected by postal vote.
This year, the university elections will take place exclusively by
postal
vote. Of course you have to request the documents. You can easily do
this
online via your ZIH account.
You can nominate yourself for the election and thus have the opportunity
to
contribute your vote to the committees of the student body and the
university. Support the interests of your fellow students, gain insight
into the inner happenings of the university, get to know engaged people
and
enhance your social skills in open discourse.
Important deadlines
Nominate yourself for election - until November 17, 2020
Apply for postal vote - by November 18, 2020 or December 3, 2020 in case
of
self-collection

GAME NIGHT
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Student council is holding a game night on the 17.11.2020, so keep
that
spot free in your calendar. It will be held online, but don't worry,
there
will still be ample opportunity to chat and make friends. The majority
of
the games will be free and casual, so you do not need to be a hardcore
gamer to participate. Of course, you are also free to play your own
games
with people.

MISSED ENROLLMENT FOR PROGRAMMING COURSES?

Still don't have a programming-course?
The chair of Softwaretechnology offers an online-platform for practicing
and learning Java. There you can find educational tasks with various
difficulty levels in which you can get feedback for your skills.

AWARD FOR DIGITAL TEACHING
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The FSR thanks all teaching staff, who have offered their courses online
in
the past semester! The many dedicated educators ensured that teaching
operations were almost running normally. Digital teaching requires,
especially for the current time, a modern, privacy-compliant and
barrier-
free solution to provide all students structured and easily accessible
ways
of teaching.
In order to find the perfect solution for digital teaching, we asked the
students for their favorites of the summer semester 2020. We received
some
suggestions for this, but due to a lack of clearly defined feedback we
were
only able to nominate two of them for the digital teaching award. We
have
two possible reasons for this: On the one hand, we simply did not
receive
enough practical suggestions or the courses did not sufficiently match
the
students' satisfaction. A combination of both possibilities is also an
option.
Our nominations are:
Cryptography and Cryptanalysis by Dr.-Ing. Elke Franz:
Lectures and exercises took place live via BigBlueButton conferences.
There
was a weekly lecture and two possible exercise dates. In addition,
regularly consultations and a forum for questions were also provided.
Ms.
Franz managed to prepare a very mathematical lecture completely
digitally.
She was typing blackboard figures full of mathematical formulas in real
time. In the beginning she used PowerPoint for this purpose and during
the
semester she switched to Typora. Interactive options such as surveys or
chat helped to determine if the learning material was still unclear or
needed to be further refined.
Opal was used to upload various resources such as slides, summaries and
digital blackboards as well as references to relevant publications every
week.
Computer networks of Prof. Dr. Andreas Schill, Dr. Markus Wutzler and
Dr.
Iris Braun:
A mixture of different e-learning materials was produced and customized
for
the event. Lecture recordings and additional thematic clips were
provided
asynchronously. During the usual lecture times, two interactive formats
using ACMS and Opal self-tests were offered, allowing students to check
their knowledge of the lecture material. In addition, students could
interact with the teachers during the exercise units via BigBlueButton,
which was supported by individual breakout rooms and a multi-user mode
for
filling in slides together. Communication was assured via e-mail, Opal
and
a matrix chat.
At last, we express our appreciation also to those, who contributed
innovative concepts and piloted new techniques to support the students
in
the current situation. We hope that all these efforts will build a
foundation for the teaching in future and that we will also be able to
continue to take benefit from the many good ideas of the educators in
future digital semesters.

REFUSING EXAM RESULTS
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your Senate managed to obtain certain regulations to ease the
difficulties
caused by the online semester for you. An example would be the
possibility
to refuse marks without having to give a reason. To do so, please
contact
the examination office. This has to happen, before you retake the grade
in
question.
This is also possible for failed attempts at said grade (5.0).
It is also possible to not increase your Semester count, without having
to
drop marks you achieved last semester.

Like most computer scientists right now, the iFSR works from home. If
